Engineer #4. Acquired. Still shipping.

I learned to code on the road during the pandemic, became one of four engineers at a climate tech startup that was acquired, and kept winning hackathons. I still ship. Some of it is live on this site.

Shipped, and live

Everything here is running right now.

The timeline

My life so far as a scroll-driven case file, from Mongolia to New York.

  • A sticky map that zooms to each leg of the route as you scroll.
  • A suitcase that opens into a laptop and types the code chapter, line by line, onto the page's ruled lines.
  • Plain JavaScript, CSS and SVG. No animation library.

The site itself

A static site on Vercel. Every push to main deploys in under a minute.

  • A small build step that inlines shared partials, so crawlers see the full page without JavaScript.
  • Share cards rendered by headless Chrome, with the tags written into each page.
  • An end-to-end test suite that drives headless Chrome over the DevTools protocol at phone and desktop sizes, and checks what a visitor sees: layout, tap targets, images that load.
